Do you accept every friend that requests to be your friend on facebook? I do not . I look to see if I know them or they could add some good to my page. Some people that have asked me to be their friend are just too odd for me. I do not have anything against odd people but when they post inappropriate stuff that is where I draw the line.

I definitely don't. Facebook contains a lot of your personal information. People can get a pretty good sense of the type of person you are based on your posts, images, etc. Why would you let someone who you don't know see that information about you?
Now if its a work/business related fb account, that's different. Then you might accept everyone for promotional methods.

Back when I played games on there I would, but I wouldn't allow them to see my info. I had them all set up in groups with only the people that I knew could see personal stuff.

On personal account I only accept people I'm actually friends with? Why would you accept any person you dont know?

When you make a new account , you can see some suggestions based on the profile you make (location , school , college )
i doubt the request coming from the accounts are fake if they are posting inappropriate stuffs.
Set you account to private (you will be safe)

I would accept ALL the request that comes to my profile (fake profile ) , not on my person ones ( My GF will kick my ass if I do so ).
