Do wordpress auto ping every day please?

Hi to all,

Just want this morning to ping with pingomatic 1 of mimes wordpress accounts, surprise me tell em "you just send a ping slow down cow boy" ????

was thinking an error i try an other one
same results

so wordpress auto ping every day ????????

As far as i'm aware, wordpress pings everytime any kind of update is made to the blog; comments, edits, posts... You certainly don't need to use ping-o-matic with WP, and i actually think it pings the same locations by default anyway.

but look i have never make new update today

so do they update and ping every day since a time ????

Everytime something "new" happends as Barry Scott said a new post or comments etc. However if you don't update or nothing "new" happens no pings are sent.

Yeah, that auto ping is a great way to get banned I hear too.
