In the past I've written fairly decent stuff here that I may want to take and include in a product one day. People like t0mmy have written good stuff that he could use himself too.

Who has the rights to that 'intellectual property', us who wrote them or BHW?

from the rules which you agreed to when you signed up: "All content and programs shared by members on the forum will become property of blackhatworld.com and company. You may not use any forum content without written permission. These rules maybe updated or changed at anytime and without without notice."

Okay, well I can just have those posts deleted then.

So, say you share the text of an eBook here that you already have written off of blackhatworld, it becomes the intellectual property of blackhatworld..?

so does that mean if a user shares a method or a program they wrote
and post it on the forum, it then belongs to bhw and not the person who
wrote it or made it? just curious .

does that mean say i write a program and share it on bhw for users to use
the program i wrote then belongs to bhw , seems odd.

would never question rules, but if i make something and share for free
how can some1 who had no time in the making claim ownership of it

Its funny cause the rule also means that if you post content/software from a third party blackhatworld becomes the owner even the poster wasnt the creator of the content/software :D

Not possible

I think it's a rule they have in place to stop people from requesting their posts be taken down. It would be a lot more moderation plus loss of traffic etc.

No,BHW would get a license to use it without paying royalties.

Well it looks like other websites take BHW material anyway....and deleted posts on BHW aren't actually deleted....

I just found a post I wrote on The Lounge on September 24th last year which got deleted on the same day, get published on a website on April 22nd, 2015 - How is that possible if it was deleted 7 months before????

Can we DMCA their asses?

as I understand from the rules which we agreed to when we signed up it becomes the intellectual property of blackhatworld You may not use any forum content without their permission .

The people that setup the clone sites of BHW do not give a fuck, and probably are scrapping BHW with a ton of different proxies. Other than a DMCA notice to the webhosting company their little else that could be done.

A persons posts do not come equipped with tracking devices, you see something useful then bookmark it and save it. Whatever, however you'd want to use it just spin and re-write the content. It's better that you're putting the knowledge to use, maybe you'll use that info better than said person.

thanks for this post, i'll be here untill a mod answers

I am also interested in this. I would like a mod to give a clear answer.

Example:
If I share something here that is let say a my method and I can't share it on other forums? ..its stupid.
