Would be interested in joining if it happens in Asia or in India.
Have spent 22 years in India till now and I think its safe. Nothing to worry to much.

Would never work in India. I've been to hundreds of Indian conferences and they are all boring (same format) and poorly organised, even the premium NASSCOM events.
Singapore would be a better destination, I reckon.
I wouldn't go as far as saying India is unsafe. Every country has its fair share of plonkers and the India that I know, have experienced and grown to love is very safe indeed. Useless you're a philistine Daily Mail reader!

While I'd like Ungagged to be held in India, i think it should be a business decision not an emotional one.
Corporate sponsorship is an important part of any international event and i don't think this will be unavailable in India if diligently sought.
India & Asia in general is a huge and growing tech market that is nowhere near saturation. Will every one in India be able to afford the ticket? No! But then neither can every one in America or England.
As regards safety, every country-America,England,Nigeria,India,Canada,etc- has its share of the good, the bad and the gullible.
IMO, if a person or organization does not move out of its comfort zone, it limits its growth potential.

The UK has an intentional homicide rate of 0.9 per 100,000, India has a rate of 3.2 per 100,000. India is less safe than the UK.
Now, this shouldn't really be an issue because the US has a rate of 3.9, but safety isn't the reason why India won't host a UnGagged event in the near future.
