do unapproved comments help rank a video?

the plan is to run a spambot on the comments so i get loads of comments in a short gap however i dont want them to be seen as they would make the video look dodgy , would this help rank the video??

I immediately assumed no, but it's possible..
Hopefully someone here knows for sure.

but surely youtube would still pick up on the activity??
