do twitter profile you via IP?

Just had some recommendations of who to follow sent to one of my accounts, but the suggestions are clearing based on another account I have (in adult niche). The two accounts are not linked at all, other than by my IP address seeing as I log in to them both.
Surprising that twitter would profile people based on their IP address alone? Unless I am missing something?

I doubt it works like that.
