Apologies if this is a basic question, but do Twitter links still help with SEO? Specifically, after the recent changes on Twitter that require registration to view tweets, can Google bots still access and index these links?

Twitter links have always been no-follow, so they don’t directly boost SEO rankings. However, they can still drive traffic and improve visibility, which indirectly helps. As for indexing, if tweets are now hidden behind registration, it could limit Google bots from accessing and indexing them. That might reduce their impact on search engine visibility.

While the SEO value of Twitter links has always been debated, the recent changes likely further diminish their direct impact. Google may have difficulty accessing and indexing tweets behind the registration wall, reducing their contribution to traditional SEO.

Twitter links are "nofollow," so they don’t directly boost SEO rankings. Recent login requirements on Twitter may limit Google bots' ability to crawl and index tweets. Despite this, Twitter can still drive traffic, brand awareness, and engagement, offering indirect SEO benefits. Embedded tweets or links shared on accessible platforms may still be indexed. Focus on a balanced SEO strategy, including diverse link sources.

Twitter links can still drive traffic, but their SEO impact is weaker. Google bots may have trouble indexing them, so it's better to focus on backlinks from sites that are fully accessible for stronger SEO results.

Twitter links are no follow, so they won't help you directly. But it can drive traffic and increase your engagement.
