When adding tags, youtube says:

"Tags can be useful if content in your video is commonly misspelt. Otherwise, tags play a minimal role in helping viewers to find your video. Learn more"

Is this true? My titles aren't commonly misspelt. Just wondering if it helps with ranking at all?

I don't think so because I seen many popular videos that have no tags. As long as your keywords are in the title that's all you need.
