Do Solo Ads for affiliate really work?

Does it really work? those websites look like complete crap. The pictures of sellers are horrendous. People, who make money from selling email lists couldn't bother to build decent site and insert decent pictures of sellers?

Those usually just work with "Business Opportunity"-Offers.

I just tested solo ads once and it din't really work out well. I lost few bucks but have heard many people making some decent income with them.

I think it depends on many factors for example the quality of, and how responsive the ad providers list is, your offer, your ad copy, squeeze page design etc. From what I understand even though you may get a couple sales from an ad blast, solo ads are better used for building an email list rather than getting sales.
