What I am talking about is coworking spaces where different people have offices. So there could be various businesses at the same address. Will Google realize there are more than one business at the same address?

I asked this. Check out the post. In general yes but it's not safe

I have a website for my parents who own a real estate company. A few years ago I forced Google to have our company on the adress because more than 1 was not possible and a client took our spot :p However, last time I checked some companies who rent a room from us, they got also a Google business page on the same adress. So nowadays thats not a problem anymore!

Google will realize if there are multiple businesses at one location(you can tweak the address appearance, by adding punctuations in address lines to make the same address appear differently. It can work if you are lucky! ).You can still use the address as long as you can provide one of these , visiting/ID card of employee with the shared address or business invoice with the shared address on it or registration/license docs of business at that address. One of my friends have 3 business(diferent niche) at same location since 1 year in Australia. She managed with a employee ID card. (Sometimes the city/state and the category/niche your targeting is also important.)

I don't think google want to know what other people business near you. As there niche is different.

i still see competitors ranking using regus (over 5 years) and liquidspace locations and it looks like it did not affect their ranking in maps
