Do search engines still use meta tags?

    Can anyone please help me out that do searh engines give preference to meta tags !!!

    No, they don't. But putting them in there helps. You can use geo meta tags.

    Search engines use meta descriptions. They are used roughly 80-90% of the time as the description in a search result snippet.

    Meta keywords, on the other hand, should not be used. They cannot help, and they can conceivably be viewed as attempts to stuff keywords.

    It does not help. It gives your competitors an edge knowing what keywords your chasing.
