Do SB AA lists still hold any ranking power?

I know they may be greatly throttled from the 'good old days' but I wanna know if they are still giving movement for some ppl as part of their overall seo practice. I ask since I havent really blasted with sb for a cpl of months since I moved exclusively to xrumer on that front for a time but want to try adding it back in.

Bear in mind that the kws Im ranking are only low comp with around 1k searches per month average so they shouldnt require much encouragement.

i never use it for the money site and as tier 2 - 3 -or 4 its hard to say.

You never know what strategy gonna work for you, so let come all the links your way that you can get naturally. Yea but obvious never do sb blast on your money site directly.

I would say no, but remember backlinks are still backlinks.
 
If you have a strong backlink velocity, IE a velocity that is pretty much constant on a weekly basis AND you couple that with comments on high pr / low obl blogs, then yes, it does work really well still.
 
Yes, backlinks from niche related, High PR and low OBL blogs still work.
 
I gave up on using SB commenter ages ago. I did a bit of a test and managed to rank better with just a few AMR blasts - but that was months ago, before the whole teddy bear thing.
 
Use them to blast your tiers, but not the money site. I'll use it a little direct to the money site just to mix up the anchor text ratios, but no blasts.
 
SB directly to site => NO
SB to backlinks => YES

You can use them to your backlinks, but doing it DIRECTLY to your money site will just make your rankings a lot worse.
All SEO services here use SB only to backlinks, not to money sites (at least that I know of, and we use it too for backlinks).

Yup they still work, you just have to be selective about what lists your using. But as long as the OBL is low and try to find comment pages where the comments are on the first page for 3 months or so. High PR.

But they have gone downhill a lot from what they were.
 
I still find they work great. Just blast them to your Tier 1 or Tier 2 links. They're a good way to get things indexed as well. The only blog commenting I do at money site is manual comments on High PR, niche related and low OBL sites.

If it makes your rankings worse, couldn't you just blast your competitions money site?
 
They can be used to power up your links.. But using them for your money site will just be terrible.. Your sites will be de-valued.

BUT, seeing the current trend of negative SEO around, I think Google might change their algo to accommodate such links, and process them better.
