Instagram keeps pushing reels, but I still see carousels getting strong saves. In your experience, which format is actually bringing more engagement right now?

Reels usually drive more reach and new followers right now, but carousels often win on deeper engagement like saves and shares, so the best results come from using reels for discovery and carousels for value.

As of right now, Reels get good exposure. Explore page shows reels, and gets more reach.

This is no longer a question. Reels are outperforming and delivering excellent results!

Reels still get more reach, but carousels often get deeper engagement (saves/comments) from followers who already see the post. So reels = discovery, carousels = strong niche engagement.

Reels are better for reaching new audiences and attracting new followers, while carousels are better for specific calls to action or affiliate marketing.

I suggest you to work on there engagements like hooks of starting 1-5 seconds make sure user engage with your video and see you getting more reach then previous.

Reels is very good, better performance and super engagement.

reels 100% from my experience. Reels work with all sort of niches

Oh yeah, totally. Don't even compare it. Carousels are good once you have an established followers base, but reels are by far the best for this.

for me reels working better . but it mostly depend on your ads

Reels currently hold a dominant position in terms of attracting engagement and expanding reach from strangers. Don't compare it to Carousels, as that format is only suitable for nurturing an existing fan base. To break through reach and appear on the Explore page, focus all your efforts on Reels – this is the shortest path to getting your content to millions of new users.

Right now Reels drive reach, but carousels often get deeper engagement (saves/comments) when content is valuable. Best strategy: use Reels for discovery and carousels for retention and saves—each serves a different engagement type, so combining both works better than choosing one alone.

Reels are N1 for exposure and growing a following especially at the start.

But once you have a bit of a following carousels work great and can go very viral. I usually start with just reels until I have an engaged following and then start mixing in carousels as well, carousels are also really good for conversions.

Carousels are better at retaining audiences and attracting more informed people. But it's harder to gain reach on them than on reels.

I think it depends on your goal and the type of content. But reels are more popular and social likeable
