I'm trying to understand how effective profile backlinks are these days.
Do they still offer any SEO value, or are they mostly ignored now?
Would love to hear real experiences from members.

Profile backlinks still work a little, but they don’t give big results like before. They’re more useful for building diversity in your backlink profile. If you want real ranking improvement, you’ll still need stronger links like guest posts or niche edits.

Profile backlinks from high-authority, relevant sites (like GitHub, niche forums) still provide minor SEO value for diversification and brand signals, but they are low-power and should never be your primary link-building strategy - focus on earning true editorial links instead.

Profile links can still help a bit if they come from trusted platforms, but they no longer move rankings the way they did years ago. They work best as supporting links for indexing and diversity, not as a main strategy.

When they originate from reputable, relevant, and authoritative venues, profile backlinks can still be valuable. Google does not care about automated or low-quality profile connections, so you shouldn't depend on them much. Rather, pay greater attention to content quality, backlinks that are relevant to your niche, and brand mentions, and view profile backlinks as a minor trust indication. Not on their own, but rather as part of a well-rounded SEO strategy, they are highly effective.

Profile backlinks offer small SEO value for diversity and branding but do not move the needle much. Prioritize high quality, relevant backlinks for real impact.

profile backlinks can offer a little SEO value, but only in very specific situations and most of the time they’re extremely low-impact or completely ignored.

Decade ago profile backlinks from authority forums were considered good strategy for creating backlinks. With changes in "G's" algorithms to crack down on spammy links this is considered as less relevant in today's world.

Profile links do serve as backlinks, but in today's world of mentions, citations, digital PR people should focus on creating content from their niche. Such things will help gain visibility in AI search.

There isn’t a huge benefit from profile backlinks, but they are still better than nothing. Doing a round of profile backlinks once in a while can be helpful for diversity.

Yes, profile backlinks still hold SEO value today, but their effectiveness may vary based on the quality of the site and the relevance of the link to the content.

In my experience, profile backlinks now only have a slight effect on link diversification and index support. If you want to see a clear change in rankings, you still have to rely on links from relevant sites with real traffic.

Not every backlink is designed for ranking money pages.

Profile links work, and it can help improve your identity in this AI era, you only need to have them on authority sites.

Since most low quality backlinks are now disregarded, profile backlinks are only beneficial when they come from legitimate niche relevant websites

Profile backlinks still give a little SEO value, but not much. Google ignores most low-quality ones. They work only if the site is real, indexed, and not spammed. Good for backlink diversity, but don’t expect big ranking improvements.

Profile backlinks still help a little, but they are not very strong and should not be your main SEO focus.
