So I was reading another topic and there was a question about bank check´s. So it got me thinking does people still using check´s in 2019? In my country we do not use check´s anymore like we use to and cash is about to retire. Soon there will only bee credit card.

I am from Sweden the bank´s don´t have check´s anymore and there is hard to find a bank that even have cash. Most of the bank´s here do not deal with cash anymore.

I see. What if you wanted to buy a house with your money, for example? That too from a business account?
I am sure Sweden still accepts cheques.. as any country will allow international cheques as well. So, atleast for compatibility's sake, they have to accept it lol.
The thing is, cheques are pretty good for high value transactions. I don't see it going away anytime soon..

Yes, it is super popular among businesses in my country.
Even if you buy a house here the broker will take it from your bank account.

In some countries cheques come with a legal obligation to pay. So they are as good as cash, but with the risk limitation factor of only being cashed by the person they are written to.
In France, cheques are still widely used. I think the average person writes 50 per year.

Btw, afaik.. the broker doesn't take the money; the seller does. The broker only takes a ptg either from you or from the seller (or both). Lol.

You forgot to answer my questions.
Exactly! This is why cheques are preferred by many businesses. If a cheque bounces, it affects credit score of the person who drew it.
Not saying there can't be an alternative though. Cheques are standard in many countries, and they are not gonna fade anytime soon imho.

Maybe your bank wont give you a cheque book but the rest of us have them.
