I noticed on some websites they a paypal donation button...being on blackhat websites I'm just curious if people actually donate money...
I know some people actually setup buy me boobs websites and they make acouple thousand a year! Which it nutz because the webmasters are never going to buy boobs in the first place.

I have a donation button on my website but I have never received a donation. However I don't see any reason to take it of. Even if one person was to make a donation it would be worth it.

I don't like the idea of putting a link for a paypal donation. I think that people think you are begging, and if you have a forum then you are really going to have problems because if someone makes a donation they believe you owe them something

I have to disagree with you jacky...
if someone makes a donation they believe you owe them something
Many people just like to donate or to give, it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe yoursite provides them with good information or good links and for this they are thankful. I think I would reserve the paypal donation for only "quality" blackhat sites :D

My friend is using paypal donation button in his website at every page. he aways use "email link" instead of "html link". It is working fine. I have not much idea about this.

I agree with blackhat, it does not necessarily mean that you are begging if you have a donation button. If you put up a site, you naturally used your talent, time, and effort to do so and everybody understand that making a living is a must this days. Only spoiled kids with rich parents are exempted. So if I find something useful in your site and have some extra bucks to share, I might be inclined to push that button. It's really a mutually beneficial arrangement, much better than demanding a lot of money for your services up front.

Peace to all!

I dont agree with other guys who told that Paypal Donation is not working for site or its just begging activity. My friends run adults community with own video hostion site. He has Paypal donation button on the site and he got $100 to $200 per month as donation despite of paid membership of the site.

Its depends of members activity and his relationshiop with you.

I also found many site have Paypal donation button. Sometime webmaster provide donation status. Many webmaster got donation from their members because they love that site. But many of webmaster doesn't get any money.

I see this on many sites and I agree, it is often ignored and it does make the site looks like it is begging, I am not against it, but I dont pay too much attention.

I might add a donation button to one of my websites because it is about hunger and poverty.
lol I should create some Black hat sites on hunger and poverty. I'll fill up the whole page with paypal donation buttons hehe :D:D Of course I will give back 1% of my proceeds to hungry webmasters who are living below the poverty line and still chuggin along with old 486 computers!

I think the amount of money you get from donations would vary depending on your user base and what value you are giving them that would inspire them to donate to you.

If you write really long articles and give value you will probably get donations. If you are just running a scraper site my guess is you'd have better odds monetizing it through Adsense or something as opposed to donations.
