Do pages rank better than posts?

Post might be more structured through breadcrumb and it may help google to understand and categorise properly. But I have not seen anything ranking faster just because its a post or page.

generally yes.. In pages you can customize many things.. including the side bar and stuff for each page..custom.
but in posts you have to go with the structure that is already set.
I know its a stupid explanation . but it is part of what i understood.

Generally speaking I think you're right, but with a lot of themes/plugins you can completely customize your posts and post archives. I use elementor templates to have total control over what the post archives look like, and what kinds of links I have on post pages.
I still think you can just use pages to categorize the content correctly, but when using custom elementor templates they are basically interchangeable.

all things being equal page ranks better than posts, because in page you do not have the concept "related posts" showing in the side bar or the "cloud tags". these 2 groups act like internal links and take away juice from the page you are trying to rank. you can get away with this if you are able to make these 2 groups as no-follow.
i noticed this when i converted a post to a page with the same URL and the rank went higher. the only difference between the two was that the page did not have these 2 internal groups.

I'm currently building an AMA site with only pages. Will post my report here once my contents start ranking. According to what I have read and heard from some top SEOs, page tends to perform better in the long run. Also, if you build your site with pages, you won't need to be constantly updating your site as required by post structure.

Was the change really significant? Did it jumped a few positions or pages for your keyword?
I'm just wondering since I always thought that posts are easier to manage on a WordPress blog. And pages are for things that you don't regularly update or change.

There is a school of thought that posts are more SEO friendly than pages initially, but pages have the ability to rank better long term. ... Pages however have better internal linking and tend to be about topics that remain an important part of your business so they're more likely to stay indexed.
