Hi. I am working on a project where I have to get 1000 members to a site. real male/female users that are interested in modeling. project duration is of 4 months and also started well. first week got 30 real female registrations but however due to some unavoidable problems I couldn't work for 3 months. So the problem is I have to signup 1000 members within 1 week. I have even used facebook but it couldn't get me more than 10 signups in $50 through their ads. I cannot enclose site name here, otherwise google will catch it and so the client.

This is my first SEO project and if I lose it, I won't get anymore then. Could anyone please help me in this. Is there any faster way to get the approximately remaining 932 members. I need real signups. I am ready to shell out upto max $50 to save my reputation. but i need to finish it within next week.

    Please help me out. thanks.

Good luck with that. $50 for 932 signups in a week?

Your best bet would be to buy some facebook PVA's and try and get a fan page for the site going viral...

    Your reputation = $50 ?

    Wow..

But seriously, I doubt that anyone will do it for $50. You will probably get people PM'ing you and telling you that they will do it, but I would be careful, and do not send the money first.

No. If you wanted some signups (worldwide, wrong niche etc) you could prob get that many for 50 bucks over on DP but they would definitely be terrible leads.

Depends what the contract is worth to you. If you're only willing to spend $50 to save it, doesn't sound like it is worth the effort.

Sounds like you were asked upfront if you could deliver and despite not having the first idea about how to do so, you took the money anyway. Admittedly, this is not going to be my most constructive post ever but seriously, I hate service providers like you.

    $50 for 1000 signups

yes mate I already tried at DP, but it was waste of money. No quality stuff there.

If I didn't knew then I would have not taken such project. I did 28 signups in the first week itself. I can do 1000 members also but the problem is the TIME. Project was given for 4 months and there were unavoidable issues,. health issues due to which I couldn't work. illness never comes telling u that we will attack your body in 2010 during feb and april. may be it happens with you, that sickness tells you before attacking your body. salute!
And I did not take any money. He will pay me only if I finish his work.

I really don't understand, if someone is asking for help and instead of helping, why you debate on other things, that are not relevant. @AtAllCosts,Your comments are totally useless.

I can almost GUARANTEE this is BlackMagicMaster who was banned just a couple weeks back! This is almost the EXACT syntax of his writing, and the same genre of excuses. I would ignore this post because if, in fact, it is BlackMagicMaster then his reputation isn't worth $50, it's far less.

And of COURSE he took the money up front.... this is his exact M.O. Man, I just have a strange hunch about this guy right now.

go and take poison or hang or shoot yourself. stupids like you do not deserve to live on this earth.

Mate, I tried that also. Hiring freelancer takes cost upto like $150-$200. I posted it on freelancer.com,guru.com etc but its out of my reach. There is no special trick. I had used yahooanswers for that with my level 5 account. It has been suspended now. So even if I start by myself, it won't be fruitful as only level 2 accounts can post live links.

    Any other solutions mate?

Well that seems to be a pretty strong response to Vicar's comment.

It seems to lend a little credence to his theory. Even if he's wrong that response is a little over the top.
Either way, it certainly doesn't help you build your reputation here.

    -------------------------

As far as your problem is concerned? I think your screwed!!

To jump start a membership site in that niche at that scale would have been a project to do, even working on it for the full 4 months you were supposed to be working on it. To now try getting 3 months work done in just one week is pretty much impossible.

It sounds like you made some promises in an effort to get someone to hire you. The problem with making promises is that you better be able to deliver. I actually know that I could accomplish something like that myself if I had 3 or 4 months. I've done similar things in the past and could utilize that previous work and experience again, but even knowing I could probably do it, I still wouldn't have guaranteed the results to a client. At the most I might have worked in a performance bonus based on results into the contract.

I never make promises on results. I let the client know what things can be done, and how that can help them. I outline what the goals are, but don't guarantee their business will achieve them. I show them what their competition is doing and explain to them where the shortfalls are. I outline a plan for my client that shows we can get better overall web presence for them than the competitor.

I always set goals, but never make promises. There are just too many variables in this business to guarantee anything more than the fact you will do the work you contracted to do.

The niche you chose is very competetive. I have myspace and facebook profiles in the photography niche that took months just to get that many relevant friends. I have a few thousand friends on a myspace profile, 90% of those friends are either models, strippers, club girls, and other wannabe models. Even with having that as an advantage I wouldn't be able to do what you need even if it were my own site and I had a month.

(please don't PM me!! I'm not interested in doing anything with this. I only mentioned it so you understand how hard what your asking for really is. I doubt my friends list would have any effect for you whatsoever, and trying would cause problems for other things I use it for.)

The only chance you have to even accomplish something half-assed would be to find someone doing some type of cpa offer redirect, and try to get them to do a jv with you to change their redirect to your site, and somehow fake them into signing up as a member. The membership that you create would be worthless though and would be more likely to just piss off your customer even more.

I don't know anyone with a successful campaign going on that would be willing to risk it for something like this. I certainly wouldn't, but good luck to you for finding someone that might.

Your best bet is probably just to go to the customer, tell them you need more time and try to work something out. Sometimes being honest really is your best solution.

Hopefully you'll learn something by this and not make "pie in the sky" promises to clients in the future.

The lesson for any newbies reading this.
You can promise a client that you will perform specific tasks, but NEVER GUARANTEE RESULTS.
It's OK to let them know the goals, but you can do everything you're supposed to do, and visitors might still not be interested in the clients product or service. Some things just aren't within your control.
If you make promises on the results, sooner or later you're going to crash.

It sounds more like you are one of those freelancer guys. I hate people who do that. They cherry pick all the jobs, promise to get it done for far less than everyone else, and then you see the same job reposted at a fraction of the cost.

It's guys like that is why reputable service providers get a bad rep!

I say you made your bed now lie in it. Because there is no way anyone is going to take $50 for what you're asking! Go back to freelancer.com and repost I'm sure someone will take the job just for the feedback. (Don't expect good work, though.)

50$ for 1000 signups and you need it targeted. It could have been easier if it wasn't targeted. Your screwed unless you do something that is drastic in the sense that people would flock over you. You could try making something viral and hope for a 1% sign up.

Here's the problem, unfortunately you had a circumstance where you were not able to produce for the client who gave you 4 months to deliver. Unfortunately for you, your back is now up against the wall and you're up against a clock to produce the result. I've been there before, years ago, in my business. Hindsight is not going to help you in this situation but it will serve as a lesson learned. You had many options available to you 3 and a half months ago that would have put you in a better position to perform or possibly salvage the job.

Never wait until the last minute. You should have maintained constant communication with the client, if you didn't, and let them know your unexpected situation. Then let them know when you would be able to get back to work and at least give them the option of agreeing to and waiting for the new turnaround time, or to explore other options. I assume you checked at least one option, outsourcing, to try to perform the job, but the cost for you was a factor. Sometimes in life it's better to give or sacrifice all or most if it means that in the end you will gain, save face/your reputation, and position yourself to get more. Make a decision to do it sooner then later to give you better options. Again, Never wait until the last minute.

Nevertheless, right now your options are limited. If I were you I would do something that you may not want or would like to do; be honest with them and let them know that you haven't completed the assignment yet, but you are willing to work for free until it is completed. Or if they haven't paid you yet, let them know honestly where you are and update them about your situation. Then ask if they would allow you more time to complete the task. Offer a discount if necessary.

If it's really do or die; do whatever in reason to deliver. Even if it means you taking a loss. One satisfied client can result in more jobs, or referrals. One angry, or dissatisfied client can mean the end of your business.

    God Bless

Sorry, I just reread where you said you got or will get $50 for 1000 signups. That would mean that you agreed to deliver targeted traffic at .05 a signup. Maybe that is a fair compensation for where you are, because there is no way most people would agree to that. If you can generate targeted traffic, send it to a CPA offer at $2/lead or $30-40/trial or sale.

People like you don't belong in forums.

Regardless of whether CEPI is right or not (which is down to the mods to decide) you can't go around speaking to people like that.

I'd be surprised if you don't get a ban when a mod sees this.

here is something that you can to. I would say its more of a black hat deal and on the shady side. I would never do this but its an idea.

Hook up with someone that post a lot to craigslist. Get them to give you the old gmail and hotmail accounts. i know i keep a list of all my old accounts. So now you have a persons name and email address that the accounts were set up with. No go and rotate your ip and sign all those accounts up.

    just an idea.

    :peace:

That's probably about the most doable plan that could work.
The client will be pissed that none of the members are participating at all. When the client figures out what a waste of money it was to hire him for the job, it's not going to be good for the OP's reputation.

But if he wants to actually look like he did something, at least for a couple days after the deadline, this has the most chance of success.

not speaking as one of the resident experts, my first impression is after that first month of illness you should have informed your boss of your health problems and asked for an extension or cancellation until your health improved.
that would have been the only way to "save your reputation" with this guy. your health wont hold out as an excuse as far as i can see, sorry. you only have about THREE PERCENT of the required goal. you should save yourself the stress of waiting for the deadline and tell him now that you failed. perhaps you should have told him at least a month ago you didnt even have 10% so he could make different arrangements. but perhaps he will be understanding. good luck.
