Do only building articles/posts but NO backlinks really work?!

I have a test site with no backlinking done to it in over 3 years, I've been adding 2 - 3 pieces of content a week and it's ranking for most articles and getting indexed in 48-72 hours sowing on Ahrefs and Semrush. Traffic is a little over 5.3k organic. At some point, I'll start off doing a little bit of backlinking and see what improvements that brings.

I also got a 3-page site that ranks #1 for 1 keyword for years lol. Yeah, I guess it's all about competition.

November probably won’t even be out of the sandbox fully. Probably just need to keep going. Most people who rank with content only have 700-1500 articles.

there is a journey in the journeys section that is an authority site earning $13k per month from ads all from content building but says it takes around 6 months for any material traffic to come to an individual article.

Backlinks are number one factor that determine the ranking. So , you cannot rank without backlinks.
