Do old facebook accounts need phone verification?

Do you know if it's really necessary to phone verify aged fb accounts?

I'll be using the accounts to run facebook ads

It's not necessary, however, depending on how you use them, if you force it out too much might make you add a phone to them, also it's not a one time deal, if you keep using the account to the max they might make you to re-verify several times.
