Not that much.
Google's spam policy makes those tools worse every single year.
1st rule: don't ever use GSA/Xrumer and so for your main sites.
Some people still use it for building tier2-tier3 backlinks

In 2010, we could rank our websites with very crappy links such as:
forum profiles
blog comments
wiki pages
to the tier1 directly. So now, what is the best backlink type for tier1? Should we purchase HQ PBN backlinks only?

Weird, but that's twice I've read about Sick Submitter today, and it's probably been about 10 years since I last heard it mentioned!
Anyway, out of those tools nowadays Xrumer is still kicking about, but will need training to get any use out of it. Tool-based links can still be used as 'supporting' links, but the days of ranking (at least anything competitive) with blog comments etc are over.
