This is an immediate red flag.

I was reading a current shitlist from someone saying the seller insisted that friends and family was the only way they could receive payment!!!!

That damn shitlist rule number 4 stopped me from jumping straight in there!!!

first time I've got scammed with some 8000 post member with premium account, his account was just stolen and next day shit list. Second time, similar. Third time, lesson learned. I've demanded screens for everything.

We do a lot to keep the scammers from hurting the membership but if a person is going to pay via a way where they can't charge back there is little to nothing that can be done.

This. Combine this with payment upon completion and you're even safer (though most will not agree to those terms).

I will not agree and I am developer. Designers probably will dissagree too. Imagine that you have spent few days working on task and client says "i not like it". This is not how it's working in whole industry.

I'd not pay upfront from anything in HAF or WTB.
 
Well, if anything the WTB and HaF sections just got a whole lot safer that only VIPs are allowed to respond there. Yea, VIP accounts can be hacked or bought, but in this regard those two sections are not any more dangerous at the moment than the Marketplace.
 
2 day ago,One Jr VIP guy, member from 2010 and running a BST thread here PM'd me. And scammed me.
Later mod told me that account(Jr VIP) was hacked.
So don't trust anyone if he pm you.2 day

yes, I've told previously that PM deals on marketplace should be not allowed ;)

also...why we have hire freelancer and wtb sections? freelancer can be found on freelancer.com
idk what with wtb but seems it's scammers nest ofcourse no offense for honest members ^^

Regular members can only start threads in those two sections, but can't reply (even to their own threads).
 
I swear there needs to be a hold-your-hand-through-the-whole-thing spoonfeeding course on here about due diligence and communication, for the buyer and for the seller.

There are far too many buyers who make dumb decisions, and sellers who don't know how to treat their customers. I've noticed the prevalence of this increasing, even with stricter constraints and reviews in the Marketplace.
 
I've just enabled 2steps verification and I suggest to do it by everyone ;)

if someone have more accounts stolen like donk who tried to scam me, then he have a way to get these accs somehow. Maybe some keylogger in download section or idk what ;)
