    Don't be stupid.

This is a response to the thread that says he uses a bot to get more views.

    Here's my story.

About 3 months ago (when I was a total NEWB at IM), I purchased an ebook off Silencer.

Well it just so happens that he was trying to hustle everyone out of their money because the ebook was a piece of shit.

Everyone who used it got banned.

    It basically went like this:
Set up many tabs for your AC articles
    Install two plugins:
reloadevery (reloads the page every 10 seconds)
and switchproxy (switches a proxy every 10 seconds)

So I used his method, and of course, banhammer.

    Several other people too complained.

Point is, public proxies are banned by AC.

And private proxies are much too expensive.

    So don't cheat AC.

Honesty is the most important part in doing business.

It's not the public proxies that are at fault here. It just obvious that they won't pay you if your 'readers' have 100% bounce rate, have the same user agent, had no referrer, you have a high clout and zero fans, people do not click any ads, to but it bluntly: they make a big fat zilch from your viewers.

Sorry to defer, but I am 100% sure that public proxies are NOT banned by AC, and I am using them routinely while using their site! :)

It is the way someone use them will get the user banned. For example, using auto-hitting using the method you mentioned will immediately get logged on AC's radar and will definitely be flagged. But using the public proxies to log in to your AC a/c will pass under their radar. So it all depends on how you use the proxies/IPs on their site.

First mistake was buying an ebook Silencer put out ;)

But you're right that you want to keep AC as whitehat as possible. AC doesn't have an across the board ban on all public proxies, but they are constantly updating a list of proxies to ban accounts from if you've given them a reason to look into your accounts.

Yeah he was selling ebooks at DP, and at the time I used DP frequently.

I think I came across a little harsh when I said AC banned all public proxies.

I'm sure they look at user agents, bounce rate, time stayed on page, number of ads clicked, etc, plus many public proxies are transparent.

lol its not smart to cheat anything like that. There is always the chance of being banned for doing it, so if you dont mind being banned try away hehe.

but I agree if they arent making money thats when they get pissed. make them money and they are happy :)

Yea, cheating them on views is akin to suicide.

I dont know why people try this anymore...the only people that make significant money from page views ($200+ a month id say) are extremely involved within the AC community, (a lot of them work for AC in some fashion), have a ton of fans and have worked their way up very slowly. AC knows who these people are. Its not a club that gets new members very frequently lol.

imo people overestimate the potential of making money via page views....and even if you can harness that kind of traffic, you're wasting it with AC. :)

The point of building page views isn't really the residual performance payments, but more to keep the ratio between total page views vs. number of articles submitted at a solid level with each of your accounts. By doing this, you get higher upfront offers and more partner calls to claim.

If you submit a bunch of articles and do nothing to bring up your page views, AC will drop your upfront offers way off.

well sure, but if you're dumping accounts after the $500 limit, you''d never get enough clout/page views/total articles to really make a huge difference right? At least not for very long since you'd have to dump the account?
