Is it still possible to rank 3 or 4 page sites for ebay keywords if the right keyword research is done?

About the micro niche sites there are many fact included. One of my client website automatically ranked in first page even though he didn't do any backlinks.Main reason is keyword , I also agree small site won't rank but if you create website with unavailable information. You will get gain also, you have to update the website.Dont simply left with 2 or 3 articles.

So to expand the conversation.

Let's say for example that I want to rank for "Nike shoes"

I would obviously build pages for related terms such as "Nike tennis shoes" etc.

How many of those are required until the website is big enough to start ranking for "Nike shoes" in your opinions?

I think that question is the same as asking how many backlinks for #1 SERP spot

I'm just talking in basics now.

You could honestly say that a 3 page site isn't going to rank.

Could you honestly say that a 10 page site isn't going to rank? Or 20? Or 50?

Not something I would focus on. Times of finding one specific long tail keyword with no competition and trying to rank for just that one keyword are gone. Regardless of what kind of long tail version of keyword you put in, top 10 results will be pretty much same. Google ranks sites with more "niche" approach nowadays. You rank the same for a specific keyword and pretty much any longtail and any variation and synonym of that keyword so sniping approach with small niche sites, that was common in the past, it's not so viable nowadays. Might still work, but you are starting with considerable handicap.

Thanks @Nargil

As you know from our discussion a couple of days ago I'm about to build a PBN, and will probably start with 40 or so sites, keep them really clean and handwritten, and sell a home page link service or similar on here, but with access to that it would be a shame not to use it to rank something of my own, but I really don't have the time to build a comprehensive niche site from scratch.
If Microsites don't cut it anymore, do you have any suggestions?

Pick a niche, I don't know... garden tools or home tools or tools, use Semrush and some keyword tool to gather every damn keyword, everything with 50 searches and more, put them into categories, make a site layout and start churning content. Hundreds of articles. Some money articles targeting money keywords and some "fluff" without any particular marketing interest. Few good backlinks, some time and you will make money no matter fuckin what.

@Nargil you really think he needs that much content? Just read a few days ago something about this. People say content isn't that much important anymore (I have been ''away'' from seo for a few years) I was just about to do something similar to his idea. Good thing i found this post lol. Looking forward for your answer.

Okay... how do you want to make money without content?

Point of the approach I mentioned is, that you target every keyword there is within your niche, rank for hundreds of longtails you don't even know exist and those will bring in traffic no matter where they are ranked. It requires minimum effort in regards to offsite SEO. All you have to dedicate, is time. For the time being, I have not found more effective way to achieve sustainable long term ranking with as little investment as possible.

How are you generating those pages @Nargil ?
You can't be handwriting them all?
Are you using spun content on money sites?
Are you buying cheap content that visitors will never see?

@Nargil I just found where i read about this. Hope I won't get a warning for this. If I am not allowed to post this link, please someone tell me to remove it. https://backlinko.com/google-rankbrain-seo
Please check "Ignore Long Tail Keywords (They’re Obsolete)" part.

I quote "
Long tail keywords are dead.

(There, I said it)

Back in the day it made sense to create hundreds of different pages… each one optimized around a different keyword.

For example, you’d create one page optimized for “best keyword research tool”. And another optimized for “best tool for keyword research”.

And old Google would rank each of them for their respective long tail keywords.
Today, RankBrain understands that these terms are basically the same thing. So they show nearly identical search results.
In short, optimizing for long tail keywords doesn’t make sense anymore."

You won't get any warning for that, don't worry. :) Well that's cute and all, I haven't said that ranking smaller sites is impossible or anything. I just don't see a point building 20 page site to rank it for a few keywords, when I can rank hundreds of keywords with the same offsite SEO investment. If you have a good writer, you have already won.

Get a great writer for money site pages, get a decent one for fluff.
