Do Micro Niche Sites+ Adsense Still Work?

Decided I'd test a micro niche site this week. Results:

If you're solely relying on traffic and conversions from google, it is very risky. I was making 2-3k per month from MNS back then. Google then decided to flip a switch and that erased all of my sites from the serps. Not only that, they banned my adsense account shortly after. I thought that my adsense account was safe due to using safe links, ok content etc... but apparently not.

I would say the best way for long term income is to grab your visitors emails etc so that you may market to them again and again.

They do work, buy you need to make it look like an authority site. I have a MNS for 2 years, never been banned/slapped or anything else. Started with 2-3 keywords, extended to about 10, now I'm close to 20 keywords. You have to update it at least once per week and build some links. If you have good keywords, then you don't need a lot of links so you don't need to spam it a lot. I did pdf sharing on tier1 + blog comments/wikis/edu on tier 2 and it worked great. Now I'm focused on social media, like getting links from pinterest/tumblr/google+. Still doing ok. Adsense + Amazon aff as monetization.
