do linkbuilding packages still work today?

hi.. i have a website for the indian.in domain. i bought a layered links backlinking package.. at first the site was steadily climbing up the rankings..but after the last google update the site plunged and is nowhere to be found in the rankings.. isnt it a fact that now with the latest google update you cant have to many links anymore..at least not within the few first weeks/months of your websites existence..
i have several websites and in need of good backlinking strategy but i fear that when i just by a package that keeps on linking google will slap me again. i heard that today you shouldnt build more than like 2-4 links per week or something...anyone?

It is wrong to believe it is not good anymore to have lots of backlinks! you can have them, just make sure you don't blast the crappy blog comments and profiels directly to your main site. Do linkbuilding on tiers and to your main site get only high quality backlinks from your first tier web 2.0 sites, from high pr/pa/da do follow sites

That being said, yes linkbuilding packages are still and always worth, just you need to know how ot use them properly

After the penguin update these kinds of link building package are not useful. If you are still using these package or packets it will penalize your website and flagged your links.

I agree, Google says it doesn't like un-natural link building. What could be more un-natural than having 50 new links crop up one week, having had very few before and then no links again the week after.

If I could buy a small amount of links on a drip-feed, that would be the best, like 3-4 links a week. This is only my opinion, but I think people indulging in these 'get 200 links delivered in 14 days' things are just living in the past to be honest.

Not such a good idea. You may get a bump but most of the time "all in one SEO packs" leave footprints and sooner or later you will get penalized by big G.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't read OPs question carefully, I thought it was about all in one SEO packs which I hate. Too slow, bad results and footprints .

OP don't listen to that crap, Lately all I do is SPAM with no dripping and it's working like magic. You will need a lot of authority to do that tho. You can try a free blog like blogger if you are paranoid about a Google slap, safest way to not get penalized. Anyway, I feel your pain but the only solution is for you to learn what works and what doesn't work.

Firstly you'll need to know how to use your anchors, you can learn that by simply checking sites that are topping hard niches on ahrefs.com. 2nd most important thing is to learn what links are good and what links are bad for your site. You'll need to know how to combine the link packs to make them work in terms of results and investment. etc

Find me one website ranking number 1 using white hat in competitive niches, and for every one I will show you 1000 websites ranking using BH techniques.

Edit, don't bother, you will not find one, I do not want to waste your time, you obviously need it for reading up on seo.

not the leaving part, the gurus part xD

the right package will work well.. just make sure they are using the right practices, link ratios and diversity in the links... chap packages might just build blog comments and nothing else, not worth it looks for diversity!

I think link building needs to tailored to the niche and keyword(s) you are building for - if you build 10,000 links in a no competition niche then you stick out like a saw thumb.

In my experience its best to look at what the competition is doing, and follow a similar pattern - then you are basically replicating the real link profile of your competition.


I don't know if there is proof of that, but it works for me.


Also I think now its much more important to have a variety of links, variety of anchors and a steady flow of links.
As well as a steady flow of content.

Link Buildings are important , but Its up to you how you use it.

sure works, but don't buy cheap indian "1M links for $3" )
ask for samples, check donors for some ranks etc, don't look at PR only
