Do link on twitter help with website ranking?
-yes

Can you rely only on those links?
-no

Social signals are not a direct ranking factor. But in a high volume they might affect your google rankings, but don't treat them as "backlinks".

Yes they sure do. If you create Twitter moments its possible to get ******** links without redirects. I have an aged Twitter account wuth PA 72, very powerfull...

There are definitely benefits in getting links on Twitter and other social platforms however, you should not focus solely on that.

Matt Cutts, who answered this question in December 2010, seems to give a slightly different answer this time, but she is actually just making a different point.

in all my testing, I have never been able to correlate rank increase from twitter profile links, tweets. it seems google ignores them. it seems google ignores all profile links and social media share links these days.

Yes, they do. They don't work exactly like backlinks but they improve your site authority and in turn help your site rank better. However, you should keep in mind that creating a ton of Twitter links won't help much.

Simply, Bookmarks in social media. It helps to increase your popularity which will increase your traffic and also boost your site.
contextual backlinks alone will help your site boost more than social shares.

Like any other links that you put out there, it can be helpful and allow you to attract some additional traffic to your site. It's hard to rely only on them in achieving good organic ranking, but they will definitely not harm you, so place your links anywhere that you can.

you can do. It gives some benefits. you should not depend on it.

Sure, I have posted more website links on Reddit, some keywords are on page one. So, keep going

The most straightforward answer to your question is a big, fat NO!

Social signals do not by themselves impact your rankings.

With that said, if your brand gets mentioned a lot on Twitter or your content gets retweeted a lot, you can benefit in terms of search engine rankings when bloggers or influencers on Twitter build links to your site.

For example, people following your niche keep seeing your content or your brand, they might want to check out your blog.

If they like what they see, they might blog about you or criticize whatever it is you've posted.

This counts as a backlink.

There has to be a link from somewhere outside of Twitter for you to get some sort of SEO mileage from your site's mention on Twitter.

Again, to recap, just having your link appear on Twitter is not going to help you.

I've found social links to be better on internal pages such as category pages/ blog posts. Though they haven't really affected rankings, they are a pretty good indexing factor.
