Do I upgrade or get a second VPS?

I currently have a VPS with Hoststage that I'm using to run GSA, and I've been extremely satisfied with their hosting. I've been using the $30/mo vps which has been sufficient for what I've been doing. Lately I've been considering creating a new service that would use roughly the same amount of server resources as what I'm currently using. (New service not GSA related)

I'm leaning towards setting up a whole new VPS which would cost a little more, but I'd be able to avoid any unforeseen conflicting issues (primarily random cpu spikes). Although I could go the cheaper route by upgrading to the $50/mo VPS and double the resources available.

Thoughts?

Personally i would keep services apart from each other.
If the vps has issues it wont affect both services.
So new service new vps, but im sure there are others who use them on the same vps succesfully.

I would recommend simply picking up the second VPS. Obviously you are saying the first pays for itself, i.e. your projects you run on it make the expenditure logical. Hopefully the same will continue to be the case on the new VPS depending on what you have planned on that one.

If you know for a fact the resources will be sufficient for your intended uses - this is the only time it would make sense to use them on the same VPS, and even then there may easily be logical reasons to keep them separate. For this reason I would not combine them onto 1 VPS unless I absolutely knew it would not mess up the first project at all. You don't want to lose a profitable endeavor simply due to inadequately allocating resources.

Get a second vps, just to avoid conflicts and staying without anything for several days when things go wrong with one.
