Do I understand snapchat/dating/CPA correctly?

I see a bunch of people creating girls profiles on dating websites with a snapchat account

The snapchat account sends message/stories linking to a sponsored dating or adult site or whatever behind a cloaker

and they make money whenever an idiot register?


And that's it ? Logically if people are still doing it, it's still profitable?
but does anyone make any significant money doing that?(I mean few thousands $ a month?) or is it only like a method for 3rd country people?

It's seems so dead simple it's weird
