Hey guys, if i use localbitcoins or any other platform where i need to validate my identity. And then i send the payment via bitcoin from these platforms , do i pay anonymously? Or since i verified my identity with my real name , surname , im not longer anonymous?

In other words, can i be traced if i send BTC from localbitcoins or any other platform where my identity is verified?

Yeah, you can be traced if they KYC.

Purse.io doesn't KYC, and there is no direct link between your ID and the crypto.

How it works is you pay for something off a person's amazon wishlist, and they give you crypto in return (held in Escrow). The tradeoff for privacy is that you have to take a discount, usually around 20%. However, like I said you have no direct link to you buying Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash and any government ID. (You can even buy Amazon giftcards to buy the crypto in cash at a store, instead of using your card.)

Then you can use Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash to trade for other cryptos via atomic swaps (e.g. Changelly or Simpleswap).

Yeah, the blockchain can be traced and back to you in that case.

You have to do something really bad to get legal identity to track you and force localbitcoin to show your identity by court order.

But by normal people, no one can. Maybe if you said exactly what are you hiding we can help better

Fist it depends how and from who you bought BTC then it depends to who you are sending it and how.
Generally speaking BTC is pseudonimus .. BUT would prefer BEAM/zCash maybe monero .

The coin you choice is 50% of the job...

Monero has better Privacy than Beam or Zcash. Beam uses Mimble Wimble which is inferior to ring signature tech, and although Zcash uses Zksnark which is better privacy that ring signature the chain has optional privacy, and seeing as a the high majority of transactions don't use privacy it means that transactions are traceable by process of elimination. Monero is IMO the gold standard right now, it's 'battle tested', with privacy by default.

You don't have that problems if you are a miner :D

Yes these transactions can be traced back to you. You can use kucoin for anonymous purposes.

Crypto is half anonymous.

I am far away from expert and lost $100 due to not knowing that besides address you need to match
mining network as well for transactions to work.

First, you need to get crypto somehow.

Either via cash or CC or PayPal.

If you buy with PayPal for example, the trader from which you bought can reveal your identity,
with CC CC info if it's not stolen CC and with Cash, if they can trace the owner from which you
bought who may be left his personal data on some crypto payment.

With Crypto ATM I also assume there is Video Surveillance there.

So either way, if you did something bad and 1k of digital forensics people are looking
for clues, you will probably be found.

The only untraceable way I see is using Linux with Tor inside VM,
transferring bought crypto to the hardware wallet, and then running it thought
some tool that will do 10/20 exchanges and finally transfer crypto to
another hardware wallet. And you will lose a bit of money on fees.

So I think it's possible to make untraceable payments,
but it will be pricey.

Even with mining, I think you are leaving some fingerprints like IP or such?

I am newbie in crypto, not exactly sure how all this works,
for mu purchases which aren't child porn or keyloggers or
leaked DBs I won't even bother to cover tracks.

Yes, That's why platforms do KYC. A somewhat non traceable way to get crypto is cash... otherwise money will have trails and if need arises, people can find the person behind bitcoin addresses.

If you have done kyc, you are not anonymous. There are some platforms that allow transactions within some limit without doing kyc.

I used bisq before. It's a p2p exchange network. Other than that you can use tornado cash or monsoom finance to make transfers anonymously. Try not to rug people though

Kyc is know your customer. If they have your documents, they have all your information. Some people fake this but do not do this if you are trading or holding large amount of coins on th exchange.

These platforms allow to send some amount without kyc. So you can use this feature to remain safe while sending payments.

Yes. You understand correctly.
