Do I really need offshore hosting?

I plan on setting up an adult tube site, with premium full lenght copyrighted movies. I will download and upload movies to openload via a VPN. So I won't host them on my site.

I've been searching this forum and some do recommend offshore hosting and some dont whether its in the movie niche or adult niche.

But when I whois some other sites that already are in the business, I see that they use regular hosting mostly cloudflare. What they do have is an DMCA page with contact info.

So can someone take my doubt away?

So someone told me that I can host anywhere I want. And use cloudflare to hide the IP of the host? Thats what other similar sites are doing if I'm right.

I would be glad if someone could clear this up for me, and tell me what is the smartest thing to do..

And if you do recommend me to go for offshore hosting, why and what type should I go for and what specs like bandwith, etc.

Would be happy to see some answers because I want to start asap and throw in a journey!

If you host in the US you would still run the risk of getting the site shut down if the host did get a DMCA notice.

I think companies in germany like hetzner are able to provide you low cost but high specs servers which you can use for hosting you content. I'm not much sure about how they follow the dmca because they are not in USA. It's better if you make some research before hosting with them.

You still need offshore hosting. Your involvement with file Hosters might get you in trouble. It all depends on your hosting provider. Your safest bet would be offshore hosting - recommended!

You need hosting that ignore DMCA for sure, even you host your video offsite

Offshore hosting does not need to be cloak and dagger.

.LI / .NL hosting will permit Adult, you just need to read their T&C carefully, or go on Chat and just upfront ASK.

Permit Adult in their T&C.

But using CloudFlare will help protect you and your host.

Have a clear DMCA / Takedown policy / Reporting Policy and you will be OK.
