    Hi,

I am currently not using any proxies. Why do we use them? Is it because we don't want to get banned by our internet providers or is it because google will detect this and somehow ban us?

I'm running senuke x all day and will probably add a few other tools in the near future (bookmarking demon, scrapebox). I was thinking that It could be wise to add proxies to my arsenal but have no idea what to go for.

Should I go for the hidemyass software that costs $78/year, should I stick with private proxies where you can get 10 private proxies for $10/month? Or should I go for something else? I am completely lost and would just like to know exactly what to go for. Any added benfits to using public proxies together with private proxies? I see some people like to do that.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes I know but who are we hiding them from? Are we using them so different sites wont report our IP which causes our Internet provider to shut us down (meaning that we want so stay under the radar because of our IE company)?

Or do we use them so google wont penalize us?

Right, without a proxy, your IP will get banned as opposed to the IP of the proxy. Most services (service as in the end web target that is disliking your activities) won't go through the hassle of contacting your internet provider but your IP will certainly be banned from using that particular service.

Yes, it is possible for Google to ban your IP just like it does with proxies if you are querying too much.

I would recommend you try public proxies first, which are free, and usually accomplish the same thing as private proxies. The only difference is you need to 'update' your proxy lists more often if using public proxies because they tend to die within a couple days. However, you have the advantage of being from several new IP addresses as opposed to the same few private IPs you might rent out, increasing your chances to avoid being blocked per IP.

If you decide to go the public proxy route, head on over to the BST forum and try a free trial of my proxy scraper/tester, Proxy Multiply.

You can try public proxies, but they die really quickly. If you go to my thread in my sig, i sell the cheapest private proxies on here! They are really fast too, and i replace them if they die or don't work for you.
