I have seen everyone claiming meta is in a bad state right now, their ads aren’t performing with no real reason for this.

What I would like to know is this; is it only product (apparel, items etc..) based ads that aren’t performing?

Would running ads for local contractors (landscapers, renovators etc..) be throwing money down the drain in at the moment?

meta is good is your running an ads remember almost all people on earth using facebook. its a greate place to market

Great question I’ve noticed the same dip in performance lately. From what I’ve seen, lead gen for local services like contractors is still holding up better than ecom. Might come down to targeting and creative quality more than the platform itself.

Service-based ads are still performing fine in many cases. The recent drop mainly affects low-quality or duplicated creatives. Just make sure your ad content is original, targeted, and aligned with Meta’s current ad policies.

The key is to:
Use authentic content (before/after photos, local customer testimonials, etc.)
Optimize targeting by zip code, even by specific radius
Use Lead Ads or click-to-call instead of landing page redirects.
If done well, local services will still deliver high ROI on Meta in 2025. It’s not that the platform is getting worse – it’s that the implementation needs to be more flexible.

Service-based ads are still working in many niches, especially when targeting is done right and the offer matches local demand. While performance might dip platform-wide, we’ve seen local contractors (roofing, home repair, etc.) still getting solid leads - just might require more testing and better creatives than before.

This is still a good and suitable platform for advertising, however, the market is increasingly crowded with more and more participants and the competition is increasingly fierce, you need to adapt and innovate constantly.

As long as your service is real and you’re not breaking any rules, you shouldn’t worry too much. Just keep things clear and honest in your ads.

1. Is Meta Ads performing badly?
It’s harder than before, but not dead. Costs are up, user engagement is lower, and ad policies are stricter.

2. Is it only physical product ads that are underperforming?
Not only them, but they’re hit the hardest due to low profit margins and high competition.

3. Are local service ads still worth running?
Yes, if done right: precise location targeting, a clear landing page, well-optimized lead forms, and proper follow-up.

Summary:
Meta isn’t useless. Local service ads can still perform well, especially if the service is high-ticket and your sales process is solid. Don’t ignore it just because others are complaining.

This platform remains suitable for advertising, but rising competition requires constant adaptation and innovation.

Meta’s slump isn’t limited to product ads; a recent algorithm tweak and pricier CPMs are dampening results across most sectors. Local contractor ads can still pull solid leads if you keep the geo tight, lean on lead-forms/call-only formats, and accept that CPLs are a bit higher than last year. It’s tougher, not pointless.
Tried a small test budget to see the current numbers?

Only use authentic content and you will be fine dont try to use other type of content rewrited using AI

many are seeing drops in performance it’s mostly affecting e-commerce and product-based ads due to rising CPMs and tracking issues.

Service-based local ads like contractors, landscapers are still performing relatively well, especially with proper targeting and local optimization. So no, running local service ads isn’t throwing money away
just make sure the campaign is set up with clear geotargeting and strong creatives

Meta advertising has been tough lately, especially for ecommerce. However, local service advertising still tends to work well, with less competition, as long as the content is good and the target market is identified.

Service-based ads can still perform well. Focus on original, targeted content that complies with Meta's ad policies.

This advertising platform is still relevant, but now the competition is increasing and becoming more fierce, you need to adapt and always innovate.

No, local service ads (like landscapers or renovators) are actually still performing well — the drop mainly affects eCom/product-based ads due to higher competition, stricter policies, and AI filtering. Local lead gen is generally safer and still gets results if targeted and tracked properly.

I run ads for local services and they're still getting leads. No big drop yet.

Service-based ads like local contractors are still performing well because they rely on lead generation and local targeting. These campaigns aren't as affected by the overall performance decline because competition and CPMs are typically lower in local segments. So running contractor ads now isn't a waste if setup and targeting are done properly
