Hi!

Does anybody know if Long Tail Pro is needed if I have Ahrefs?

So from what I have read by googling, Long Tail Pro mainly is used to search for long tail keywords and "profitable" niches. Is that something I can't find with Ahrefs alone? Or is it just so much easier to find those profitable niches and long tail keywords in Long Tail Pro?

Thanks in advanced!

If you have already ahrefs you can use their keyword module to search for long tails. You don't need longtailpro specially with ahrefs cost

You probably don't need both the tools. From my experience, Ahrefs is better in few key areas and they have a larger database. And of course, you can find long tail keywords with Ahrefs too.

But, if you want to be doubly-sure, use both for each keyword and see what the average result comes out to be.

You need whatever speeds up your keyword research.

You should be able to do keyword research without tools first. They are called tools because they help do the job, they won't show you the good keywords.

The biggest mistake I see is people go from tools > manual > tools. It wastes so much time and effort. Just learn manual and then tools (Manual > Tools)

The reason I know you haven't learned manual research properly, is that your asking which tools to use. The tools depend on your preference, and your method of keyword research. They are all tailored to different people.

It's the first time I have heard about manual search... Do you by any chance know any sources where I can learn manual search?

Thanks for all the replies guys!

Let me simplify it for you...

When you manual, do you mean spending s little bit on AdWords to get accurate click data?

No, tools do the volume.

OP is comparing different tools, and is not referring to data, based on the tools comparison I assume hes trying to get one that helps with keyword difficulty.

Ahrefs is more of a competitor analysis tool, as it has a HUUGE web scrapped database. But for keyword research from scratch, I’d like to go for LongTailPro or so that takes seed keywords as input and delivers tons of suggestions of keywords. Another good feature is how broken down they analyze the competitors of a certain keyword.

Bad part is- Don’t trust the KC of LongTailPro. The KD of Ahrefs is far more accurate.
