I just got a free dot tk domain that I am redirecting to an affiliate link but whenever I type it in it says "this webpage not available". I read that it may take some time for it to go live but I am also wondering if I need some kind of hosting or can I just wait and it will show up and redirect? I'm sorry if I sound dumb I just don't have much experience with this kind of stuff. Thank you if you can answer my question.

I don't think you need hosting if all you're doing is redirecting. I remember buying a .com from godaddy and immediately redirected to an affiliate product without buying any hosting.

Use namecheap to redirect, it is free service.

BTW, I highly recommand you to give up .tk domain and choose .com .net or .org domain. .tk domain registor is a joke and they will threaten you when you domain has much traffic. And I registried a .tk domain(christmas.tk) last year, but after several days pass, they delete my entire account (not just domain, the whole account which I can't give any provement), but I swear it is true.

So stay away from .tk.

do NOT use .tk, if your domain starts to get traffic they will seize it. I made this mistake few years ago.

.tk doesn't allow you to set up redirect on another redirect page.
if you wish to use free .tk domain you should use additional page with JavaScript parent iframe breaker code.

.tk domain --> your page with JavaScript redirect --> affiliate page

.tk free domain why would your order hosting for free domain. I suggest you to bypass this .tk domains

Yeah I will probably get a .com tomorrow. The issue was the affiliate link was not working
