Do i need an ecommerce website to sell one or two products?

I am looking to start selling my own products online slowly one at a time. I dont want to pay for a shopify membership because i only have one item to sell at the moment.

Is there a way to sell just one item on a website without making an ecommerce store?

I heard of buy it now buttons that go through paypal but I am unsure of how that works and if I have to pay another subscription fee. I am new to this.

There is no subscription with basic paypal.

You could do this in a number of ways, including:

PayPal Button
Stripe

And, depending on where you plan on driving your traffic from - (if mobile, I would suggest):

AmazonPay
Android Pay
Apple Pay
FB Pay
and, of course mobile wallets are becoming more and more popular.

Of all those, Stripe and PayPal are probably your best bets as they have different versions for mobile you can utilize in the future should you require it.

Have you considered selling bulk to businesses who are in the same niche as you?
Try contacting several business.

I would never make a ecommerce website for selling one product, it is too complicated. Try to make one page offering your stuff with amazon or ebay link.

I would suggest, go with eCommerce site to avoid the security issues related to payments. You can select the payment gateway and can integrate it with you website. There are options to pay using button click but really not sure how safe they are for online transactions.
