    Hi,

Do I need a copywriter for my online store that is selling accessories and jewellery?

Where/which part of my website content will require a service from a copywriter?

    Thank you!

the product descriptions, you'd do well to optimize each page for whatever product/keyword you'r trying to sell

Its nice to make sure all your product descriptions are written differently than what all the other stores have. Other than that, the better written the site is the better the sales! Make sure to use the alt tags on your pics to help improve your seo.

But because my descriptions are pretty short and concise... Will it be a waste of money to hire them?

How much do they cost on average?

    Thank you again!

It really depends, are you looking to get SEO traffic? Long, unique product descriptions will make a world of difference.

It would be a waste then. Just stick with the alt tags for the seo, put links in with alt tags as well as pictures and you are good to go.

Honestly your copywriting is probably mediocre at best. If you want to increase sales have someone write sales copy for your homepage and product pages.

Do not invest sir. Alt tags are simple HTML, <...alt="Your text here">

You could either have product descriptions written or if your keywords are high search volumes, setup buffer sites which offer reviews with direct links to your product pages.

If you can at all afford it, then yes. It's well worth the money to have professionally written copy.

If you're getting a lot of traffic, getting a decent copywriter is a no-brainer. Any small % change in conversions could mean thousands of dollars..

Good copywriters are expensive but worth every penny

But you still need targeted traffic
otherwise the best copywriter in the world can do nothing for you

Quality descriptions are always good but you should focus more on keywords and optimisation.

Personally, I think you don't need a copywriter it should be easy enough to do by yourself.

But..if you can afford a copywriter, you should hire one it'll make your store look a lot more professional.

You need a copywriter for the product descriptions. Also, if you have a blog page in your website, you would also need a writer for that.

Hiring a copywriter will be worth the investment in the long run.
You can let the copywriter know what your budget is and see
if they would be willing to work with your price range. However,
don't just hire a copywriter because they are cheap but hire one
because they have superb writing skills.

Obviously! If you intend to sell to the traffic you worked hard to get, write proper descriptions. It's digital merchandising, no different than real life. If you're out of ideas, create a list of questions for the copywriter to answer for each product. Think of things people would be most likely to ask a sales clerk if it were a real store. If your products are all related, recycle some FAQ's and have the writer answer them, then spin the content to vary the keywords. Presta has some SEO plugins which are highly recomended. If its not too late however, I would suggest you look into opencart. It is superior to Presta in many ways, cheaper to develop using oDesk people and has amaaaaaaaaaazing seo tools that dont cost too too much. There are wonderful templates that are easy to write copy for - Shoppica is one, others are on Themeforest.

They don't have to be expensive either, just in tune with the product being sold. I use $5 people off Fiverr with great aplomb. People who know the market and do copywriting will write better than an outsider 8 out of 10 times. Worth a try.
