- I have a more than capable desktop, it won't have any problems running all kinds of SEO software simultaneously
- I already leave my PC running 24/7
- I use private proxies with all my software (excluding AMR..)

So do I actually need to be paying for my VPS? Would help me cut costs and potentially increase performance..

Do you have a fast internet connection (fast upload speed)? If not then you should consider an VPS.
 
If you have a computer that's online 24/7 you basically have a dedi:) only difference is you might not have as good bandwidth..?? Also you don't have an sla so if your Internet goes down or whatever, your f'ed. Other than that, I'd say your fine - get a vps and you'll prob have less power by the sounds of it anyway;)

Having said that, I wonder what the cost would be in power for having a pc turned on every day for a whole year?
 
You need proxies to your VPS too so not just if you still use your home IP.
 
Yeah, only question is what is your internet speed and bandwidth... If you have unlimited bandwidth and at least 2-5+ Mbit/s you are good to go...

It's always a good thing to keep cost to a minimum. Specially in the beginning before the real money start to roll in.

So just use your own computer for now. When you start to earn money can you consider to scale things up a bit.
 
depends on your needs..i got 3 vps and still looking for more :)
you can simmply set up tasks and leave on vps and use ur pc for other stuff
 
Thanks for the input guys. Just wanted to make sure I was thinking of everything.
I have a 20mbps connection at home, so I think I'll switch to using my PC.
