Do high PR nofollow links have any real value?

I landed some really nice PR 6 with low obl backlinks but they're all nofollow. Do these super high PR nofollow links have much value? I'm not talking about dollar value, I mean value to my sites...

a lot of debate on this area, some say yes and some say no
but any way a link from authority high pr low obl will never hurt your site, so why don't you get it?!

It's not wasting of time, it's just a good sense to keep good link diversity, that doesn't mean only diversity of platform but also diversity of do/no follow , text/image links, anchored/non-anchored links ....etc
 
It is like having links from wikipedia. So answer is yes, nof0ll0w helps for diversity and natural link profile! :)

Also i saw some case studies, where people ranks only with nof0ll0w!
 
If those are niche related then its worth alot

If not niche related then simply its link diversity go with it
 
I tried ranking a low/medium comp keyword with only no-follow blog comments in the end of last year. Guess what? It worked.
 
it will not only be good for link diversity but you also get natural traffic from a related site which can never be a bad thing. plus, i too have heard of others ranking better with high pr backlinks even though they're nofollow

overall i think it is important to have these links and it is not a waste of time
 
I've got a site right now that I rank entirely with low PR nofollow scrapebox comments. It might not work as well as some high pr followed links, but it works, so I do it because backlinking 700+ pages any other way would cost too much money.
 
diversity in all types of backlinks for your seo campaign is key. you want the seo campaign for your website to look as natural as possible to google. yes! that includes both do follow and no follow links.

Nofollow links are just for traffic, don't affect rankings in any way. Nofollow links were invented to stop the SPAM in Wikipedia, that's why all wikipedia links are nofollow.

Nofollow is not for diversification, diversification is different anchor text, like "your anchor". "anchor your", "http :// youwebsite. com" and different links format like from text, image, frame, redirects... different font types, bold, lists... different domains, hosts, IPs, locations...

If you really think that you are missing out on a lot of good linkjuice :-) I'm ranking plenty of kws with no follow. Perhaps they don't offer as much juice as a ********, but they sure still work - that's for sure.

The problem is that use of nofollow has been abused for years and even moreso today. Many webmasters are trying to "preserve" their pagerank by nofollowing every outbound link on their site. I personally believe they carry value. But more importantly, giving no/restricted value to nofollow links will eventually be abolished in the future. Best to have them in your backlink profile now for when they do.

Also, internal discussions regarding this matter are always interesting topics when analyzing website stats in a team environment. Many believe that nofollow links may have no initial value, but after a set period of time they do carry value. This allows time for mods/admins to remove such links. If they are not removed, they become legitimate in Google's eyes. That's theory, but I've seen data that supports this.
 
Yes, nofollow do have benefits. It makes your backlink profile look more natural. Which is what everyone should be striving for.
 
Let's say this:

I have a website, I'm reviewing electronic products, one of the product is very expensive and not useful. I want to link to that product with a nofollow link, as I don't want to give reputation to that site.

If google gives value to nofollow links, how google will know if I'm saying that this product is good and should have better rankings or this product is bad and should have worse rankings?

By context, I don't thinks so. If google detects bad words and relate them with the link they are not doing a great job. As I can say: "You should buy galaxy s instead of an iphone because galaxy s is not that bad, ugly and expensive product" How google knows if "ugly" and "expensive" is related to galaxy or iphone.

As you can see if the link is nofollow is zero for search engine rankings, even if it comes from wikipedia.

That's why I always try to buy and offer in my SEO services 100% do-follow links.

I concur with this, it doesnt matter whether they are no follow or not. all diverse links are good for ya . the more variety the better .
 
there is lot of debat going on with nofollow and ******** blogs

i would say its better to have no follow links so that it would give you nice link diversity.

you are not going to loose any thing if you get for free utilize it.
