Do hashtags still help on TikTok?

Hashtags are not as relavent as they used to be. the algo scans your content visually and audio wise now, so they already know what it is without you giving it a hashtag. but i am sure some part of the algorithm is still programmed to read your hashtag and take it into account. so def no harm using 5 hashtags you think your target audiance is searching.

These can contribute to context and discovery, but don’t necessarily think that hashtags will drive reach on their own.
It appears that interesting hooks, view duration and engagement play a far greater role.

I think hashtags can still help tiktok understand the topic and reach relevant viewers but they probably aren't the main factor behind reach. Content quality watch time engagement and audience interested seem much more important

Hashtags help a bit for context, but algo cares more about hook, watch time, and engagement.
Use 3-5 relevant ones and focus on content

I've noticed relevant hashtags can help a bit, but I wouldn't overthink them. A few targeted ones seem better than filling the caption with random hashtags. The video itself still matters way more imo.

I've seen people use tons of hashtags while others barely use any. Has anyone actually noticed a difference in reach?
i’ve found hashtags are more useful for giving TikTok context than for creating a big reach boost on their own I’d keep them relevant and use a few targeted ones while putting more effort into the hook watch time and overall content

adding of trend hashtags with captions helps improve profile post on trend pages for viewers and research benefit to engage with the most effective profile with many subscribers and followers index in result list for interactions and engage.

I think using hashtags is like targeting your audience. It helps TikTok understand what you want to reach and who are interested in what topics.

I has seen videos does better using 2 or 3 niche specific hashtags rather than using a bunches of general ones. in my opinion hash tags are better for context than reaching more people.

I’ve noticed that using a few relevant hashtags works better than stuffing too many TikTok seems to rely more on content quality and audience engagement for reach.

I think hashtags are a great idea; they help viewers understand the message you want to convey and can help your video attract more viewers.

I don’t think using hashtags on every video is particularly important these days. The content of the video itself is what really determines how well it performs.
True. Hashtags may assist in giving more context to the video, but the content and its engagement and retention signals will always take precedence. A poor video will never be saved by 20 hastags.

i haven’t noticed a big difference from using lots of hashtags compared with a few relevant ones i’d keep them targeted and spend more effort on the hook watch time and content quality since those seem to have a bigger impact on reach

using a few highly relevant hashtags usually works better than stuffing every post with random ones. reach mostly comes from watch time and engagement, so hashtags help categorize the video but won’t fix weak content.
