Linking to authority and sources is very important when creating a piece of content.

When you link to this sites, do you no follow or do follow them?

Does your decision change if it's the competition?

I have read a good article about it before, can’t find the link now tho.

Use ******** links for high authority sites that can be trust and you agree with the information or facts they submit, also for references.

Use nofollow links for sites you are not 100% sure if their given information is correct or you have contrary opinion.

In SEO terms - pass juice for those who deserve it, and ignore those who don’t.

I like the way you put it into place, I get it and will start implementing some changes asap
 
If *I* am linking out, I make sure to link out to ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY sites so Google's HILLTOP update can benefit the page I'm linking from

DO FOLLOW of course

No point in using NO FOLLOW if you don't link out to low authority/mediocre sites

Thank you very much! I hadn't heard about that update, but thankfully I had been following it for the most part
 
Do-follow links are good it helps your search engine rankings. No-follow links does not boost PageRank
 
Diversity is the key
60 40 will be the best.
I do the same....
 
Definitely d0follow links need to be focused more. For the diversity purpose you can use few no follow links around 15 - 25%
 
DO FOLLOW, only if its relevant and trusted site, this help to improve relevancy of site and No follow can used for diversify and not legit sites.

 
Mostly it will be do follow, you balance both Do Follow and No follow.
 
D0follow is fine for this, in other circumstances you can use nofollow too.
