Do Facebook ad spy tools collect mobile ads? and how do they do it?

Do they use real mobile devices to spy on mobile ads or they fake the user agent? or they only collect desktop ads? (I'm interested in Facebook specifically as it is a tough bitc* and faking user agents might not work with it)
