Do Expired Articles rank?

Any of you have any experience with this? I checked many expired articles but every and each of those show 100% plagiarism meaning a lot of people are using them.

Do these articles actually rank?
Some expired articles may still rank, but it is risky to rely on them because they may be plagiarized and outdated. Starting a new website? It's a good idea to try new articles

Old articles can still show up in search results if they stay useful, well-written, and updated. The number of other websites linking to them and how much people engage with the content also affects their ranking.

The consequences of expired backlinks varies according to criteria such as the quantity of impacted backlinks, the authority of the connecting site, and the overall backlink profile of the website in issue. It is typically recommended to maintain a healthy backlink profile by periodically checking and fixing any expired or broken links.

My question has nothing to do with backlinks and can you explain what "expired backlinks" mean?
