Do engagement groups work?

Hi,
I have seen a few engagement groups on twitter. Do these types of groups work or does twitter notice they are from the same people all the time?
Also can you mimic engagement groups by creating your own accounts that like and retweet your posts... I guess it would be a mini version of child-mother child technique if you do it yourself.

I would imagine that a whatsapp or telegram chat specifically for twitter engagement would work. i've seen some people state that engagement groups are safest when you don't post the actual link to your post but instead u just post in the group notifying everyone that you have a new post/tweet up and for them to go to your profile and engage with the post/tweet that way versus using the link. i've been trying to find engagement groups on twitter as i'm in the music niche but haven't found any. would like to chop it up with you more if interested
