Do .EDU.XX domains carry anymore weight than regular .coms?

Do .EDU.xx domains carry anymore weight when it comes to linkbuilding than a .com? I know .EDU backlinks are solid, but I have no idea about these.

Yes they do if it is a real university. EDU simply coincides with the fact that many respected institutions use it. If you have a link from an Austrian university you get all the boost from an edu domain even though there is no 'edu' anywhere in the respective url.

I got couple of them with PR5 each. its good for getting high pr link exchanges.
