Do craigslist ads still work ?

please can someone help with a better option free classified in the US that is still working perfectly well?

craigslist.org ranked number 1 and is the most visited Classifieds website in United States in July 2024, followed by bizbuysell.com as the runner up, and craigslist.com ranking at 3rd place as the leaders of the Classifieds websites in United States.

Long familiar with their platforms and it used to be good in my opinion, but it is filled with people trying scams on every selling listing (419/Checks/etc). So they have paid ads which are cheap, though I doubt the effectiveness these days after trying to sell a stove to only see bad results. Remember that there is feature I think to bump old ads to the top after 45 days, re-post or something. I doubt ads are getting more than 50 views on average a lot of the time. I have way to get inbound notifications of items matching my target keyword. I would use it, but I would prioritize something like Facebook Marketplace perhaps even more. There are other selling apps which are not classifieds too, check Mercari for items or find a niche marketplace.

Depends, but I guess Craigslist traffic works just fine

it was a little gold mine 10 years ago. not sure about now.
put up some posts and see how it goes. or spend a few minutes see if you can spot other affiliates.
as far as alternatives you got Kijiji for Canada, FB marketplace took over a lot of the traffic. last resort hit up Similarweb for an analysis.
if you selling marketplace stuff there's the Offerup app. nowhere near as much traffic as the big players, but it's there.
