Do CPA Networks Approve Link Cloaking ?

Its just like I said in the other thread, and many other threads for that matter, if the merchant is happy you are fine.

I dont care if your white hat grey hat or black hat, if the merchant is cool with the profits they make off you, your fine.


Heres another Nevarc gem, Ive changed my mind on fake leads, im not opposed anymore as I was, provided its within reason.

I'm going to be generous and say that at least 12% minimum of my leads each month, I get no credit for. This is a combination of shitty Direct Track's software, shaving by the network, shaving by the merchant dropping pixels here and there, etc.

I may start mixing 12% fake in just for fun, my quality score is high enough to do it and im more than a little pissed that im losing probably 6k if not more every month from this garbage.

yea like they dont know whats going on.. oh they fuckin know. From the standpoint of a publisher it would be few lines of server side code to shave off 10% of leads by not displaying or improperly displaying the final pixel.

I was under the impression that if I'm doing paid advertising, people who want to spy on me can still do so with spying tools like Hexatrack or Spyfu.

The tool itself is awesome and won't get you banned. If you are stupid with it, however, and think you can just do whatever you want and that you're protected from your own stupidity, think again.

The hammer is sitting right there in your toolbox. You can either go build a beautiful home with it, or you can whack yourself right in the thumb.

Both "CPA Master" AND Nevarc are correct. Working with your affiliate manager is a two-way street. Just be careful what tactics you use to generate your cash.

The CPA networks want to make money, you want to make money. The CPA networks also need to keep their advertisers happy. You need to keep your CPA network happy.

I like to cloak all of my links, always. I'm not having any more of my landing pages leaked...I'm just not taking that chance. With 99% of the CPA companies out there, you don't even have to worry about it. It's that 1% where you need to protect yourself.

Just keep the overall big picture in mind. Happy advertisers = happy CPA network = happy affiliate marketer.

As for the "shaving" here and there by various advertisers, I don't know know enough about the system to know what can or can't be done about that. I'm going to learn though. Count on it.

Thanks to everyone posting in this thread. Very informative for those of us who remain a little new to CPA. I've been pulling down 2 g's a month, and thought I was doing decent. When I see some of you upset over the shaving and losing as much as 5-6K/month on that, I'm floored at how far out of the loop I really am.

Looking to really bust in on PPC for CPA soon. Any suggested resources?
