From what I’ve seen recently, links placed naturally within relevant content often seem to carry stronger SEO value compared to links that appear sitewide in sidebars or footers.
Search engines may pay more attention to the surrounding content, topical relevance, and how naturally the link fits within the page.
That said, sitewide links are still sometimes used for branding or navigation purposes.
Curious to hear what others are seeing lately:
• Are contextual links giving better ranking signals in your experience?
• Do sitewide links still provide any measurable SEO benefit today?
Looking forward to hearing different perspectives.
