Do comments on Wordpress boost rankings?

I was wondering basically if writing a few non-spam comments on my blog under a couple different usernames would boost rankings in any sort of way. Does anyone have any experience on if that would impact how Google views the site?

I have thought this but not writing my own just allowing no follow comments. Alot of high flyers allow this and seems to work :S

allow people to comment but obviously all links outwards no follow to retain link juice?

I'm not very clear that it will effect to your ranking in a positive way or not, But i can say that if you'll do this with some unique and quality content's, hope this will work for you.

I think you could write a comments on your blog is not boosting your ranking because you can use the same IP address.also you can use to write with the different IP address it will make some positive response to your blog.

always try to keep all the link jiuce you can
make your comments no follow as well as your categories, sidebar texts and such
if youre using wordpress install the free plugin "Platinum SEO" and will be able to do this very easily

Try to post every comments on different IPs so that your comments will look real not spammy and then it will gather a good amount of traffic directly on your WordPress blog.
