No, it's not possible for them to verify the ID number is valid. Of course you can send a fake ID. Think about how many countries are models on porn sites. You think they can verify someone's id from Venezuela, Canada, USA, Russia, Philippines, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, South Africa, etc? Not possible. There is no database for checking this. They just cover themselves so if it turns out you provided a fake ID, they can tell the courts that they did their best to make sure you are legal age.
Like the other guy said, the ID will need to match your face, and they will take a very close look at it. But otherwise, people use fake ID's for this stuff all the time. I understand the fear of submitting your real ID, but the only way it would ever be released is if you became a famous celebrity or politician, or if the site was hacked. If the site gets hacked, EVERYONE will be exposed, so it's OK because even our grandparents and every politician and every CEO of big businesses would be exposed. Nobody will care about her then.
